He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Sweatman and Jeanne Sweatman; and his in-laws, Helen and Roy Hodgson. He is survived by: his siblings, Bette and Don; his siblings-in-law, Ruth Ferguson, Carol Dockrell, Karen Sweatman and Ron Ferguson; his nieces, Debbie Ferguson (Julie Edwards) and Kristina Sweatman (Taylor Hall); and his nephew Christopher Sweatman (Katie Sweatman).
