He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Geddes and Marion Geddes (McDonald); his daughter Nadine; and his siblings-in-law, Emma Geddes and Perry Giffin.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Geddes (Simpson); his daughter Lori Smith (Brad); his grandchildren, Darcy Smith, Adam Smith (Emma), Cape Breton, Zoe Geddes (Brett) and Kingston; and his siblings, Peggi Giffin of Milford, NS and Don Geddes of Ottawa, ON. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
