Kim Rodgers Obituary

After a short course of treatment for cancer, Kim Rodgers, age 70, died peacefully at home on February 15, 2024, with his beloved partner, Marilyn, by his side. Originally from Toronto, Kim and Marilyn moved to Cape Breton in early 2012 and spent 12 wonderful years together in L’Ardoise. Kim will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched. Sincerest thanks to Lesley LeRue, Dr. DeRoche and Dr. Pluta for the compassion they showed Kim in the final weeks and moments of his life. Cremation has taken place and, at Kim’s request, no visitation or service will be held. In remembrance of Kim, please consider donating to your local food bank or doing whatever you can to help someone in need.

Gabriel Szobel wrote a sympathy message

“Marilyn: I'm so sorry for your loss. As you know, Kim was my first mentor. Put another way, I would show up at his door almost daily, as a first year lawyer, looking confused. He never once sent me away. When I came back twice on the same day, he would greet me with, "You're back....what do you want?" And then would answer any question I had. He also tried his best to teach me how to ride a bike. I'm grateful that I got the chance to work with him. Again, please accept my condolences.”
