He was predeceased by : his parents, James A. Franks and Lena Franks (Thorne); and his sisters, Norma Herring and Florence Whitman (Tom). He is survived by : his brother Charles Franks (late Ella); and his brother-in-law Clifford Herring of Murray River, P. E. I.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Donations in his memory may be made to Grand View Manor Foundation or Lawrencetown & District Volunteer Fire Department.
