She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry Beddow and Anne Beddow of Little Bras; her brother Gerald; and her husband Bill. She is survived by : her children, Melanie, Sydney Mines, Valerie (Ian March) and Terry (Christine); and her granddaughters, Jessica and Danielle.

Donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County or the Cape Breton Cancer Center Patient Care Fund.
