She was predeceased by : her parent Alfred Sanderson; her husband Clarence Sidney Denton; her son Curtis; her brothers, Frances Sanderson and Ernest Sanderson; and her significant other Edward Amero.

She is survived by : her parent Louisa Sanderson (Pyne); her daughters, Marlene Trask (Gary), Little River, Joan, Tidd and Annapolis Royal; her daughter-in-law Andrea Denton of Little River; her brother Murray Wentzell; her grandchildren, Adam Trask of Digby, Lisa Denton of Coldbrook, Vera Denton (Josh Comeau) of Greenwood, LaReta Denton (Gregory Muise) of Mount Uniacke and Sidney Denton (Shelby Scott) of Little River; and her great grandchildren, Ryan Hogan, Bryanna Weagle and Joel Comeau.
