He was predeceased by: his parents, Winnifred Balish (Winnie) and Harold Balish Sr.; his siblings, Diane Bell and Craig Balish; his brothers-in-law, Brian Nickerson and Allan Bailey; and the mother of his children Susan.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Balish of Shelburne and Jonathan Balish of Halifax. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
