He was predeceased by: his parents, John Somerville and Rosella Somerville (Trenholm); and his brother David. He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Robert Somerville (Janice), Jackie Laws (Neil) and Karen Gill Australia (Joseph Brongo); his grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Brandon, Morgan and Peter; and his great grandchildren, Ava and Gabriel.
