She was predeceased by: her parents, Dexter Dearman and Clara Dearman (Pinkney); her husband George Mason; and her siblings, Amelia, Lillian, Edith, Frances and Owen.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Allen (Tom), Kathy Janes, Faye Collins (Chuck), Freddie Mason, Danny Mason and Dianne Chu (Jimi); and her siblings, Laura Williams and Reid Dearman (Ethel).
