He was predeceased by: his father Walter Coughran; and his grandparents, Lillian Pearl, Theodore Bremer, Letitia Coughran and Frances Coughran.

He is survived by: his friend Jimmy Davidson; his mother Lillian Coughran of Sackville; his sons, Craig Coughran (Amanda Hickey), Hammonds Plains, Kevin Coughran (Amanda) and Beaver Bank; and his grandchildren, Rebecca Hickey, Karina Coughran and Brody Coughran.

In lieu of flowers a charitable donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
