He was predeceased by: his parents, George James and Rose Garnett; his wife Annie; his siblings, Lawrence, Harry, Lewis, Wally, Ann and Rose; and his grandson Walter.

He is survived by: his children, George Jr., Stanley (Agnes), Grant (Christine), Ann Marie (Robert) and Valerie (Arnie); and his sister Emma. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
