Joan Carolyn Dahr Obituary

This is to announce the passing of Joan Carolyn Dahr, age 74 of Lower Sackville passed away on April 20, 2022 in the Halifax Infirmary.

Joan was the daughter of Cecil and Myrtle Van Amburg. She was born in Yarmouth County, raised in the Valley area, and resided in Lower Sackville.

Joan worked at various jobs. Her most recent was a childcare provider for her two granddaughters. She loved to play Bingo, bake, and knit. Anyone who received a pair of her knitted socks loved them.

Joan leaves behind her daughters, Heather Dahr (Trevor) and Jennifer Dahr-Bonner (Wayne); sisters, Doreen Barkhouse and Linda Hollahan; her grandchildren, Erika Dahr and Raelynn Dahr, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Synthia Weagle and Deborah Van Amburg; nieces, Amy and Megan Van Amburg; a never forgotten son, Troy Steven Van Amburg-Patterson and common-law partner, Wesley David.

Cremation has taken place according to Joan's wishes. Visitation will be held Saturday April 30th from 1-3 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, Lower Sackville. Interment to take place following visitation at Upper Hammonds Plains Community Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Gough officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association.
