He was predeceased by: his parents, Sadie Rent (Clarke) and Frederick "Buster" Rent; and his brothers, Norman, David Rent and Frederick "Sonny" Rent.
He is survived by: his wife Jean (MacDonald); his children, Suzanne Rent, Heather Lewis (Wes) and Kenneth Rent (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Madison, Naomi, Dianna, Ellie, Heidi, Alec and Penelope; his sister Elaine McGrath; his sister-in-law Linda Rent; and his nephew Glenn McGrath.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Nova Scotia SPCA or Hope for Wildlife.
