He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Lyons and Lucille Lyons (Griffin); his wife Doris (Atkinson); his daughter Sharon (Hennebury); and his sister Shirley (Harnish).

He is survived by: his daughters, Susan of Porter's Lake and Sheila (Jeff) of Canning; his grandchildren, Tony (Setsu) of Dartmouth, Andrea of East Petpeswick, Andrew of Port Williams and Stephen (Nicole) of Kingston; and his great grandchild Blake. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
