It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Richard Gilson of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, born in Kingston, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 45, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Carol Gilson and Thomas Wildbore; his wife Marja; his daughter Mae; his siblings-in-law, Joshua Ernst (Michaela), John Ernst (Allison), Peter Ernst, Elijah Ernst (Rebecca), Eva Parker (Ethan), Ruth Gravel (David), Esther Ernst, Nathan Ernst and Samuel Ernst; his nephew Gregg; his niece Jennie Ernst; his parents-in-law, Van and Molly Bachman; his grandparents, Molly Bachman and Van; his uncle Christian Bachman; and his cousins, Gita Gnanadesikan, Noah and Gillian Buote.

In honor of David's passion for space, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Canadian Space Society and the Space Foundation.
