She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Knickle and Olive Knickle (Tanner); her husband Captain Merrill Romkey; her daughter-in-law Valerie; and her brother Frederick.
She is survived by: her sons, Geary, Jerome (Wendy), Blue Rocks and Jonathan (Anita) of Corkum's Island; her grandchildren, Johnson, Stephanie (Steve) of Hamilton, ON., Alicia (Rich), Adam (Jenn), Samantha, Claudia (Matthias) and Kingston; and her siblings, Julia Tanner, Blue Rocks and Ruth Mills. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home (11213 Nova Scotia Trunk 3, Lunenburg, NS B0J 2C0). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St Paul's United Church.
