Bernetta Mary Rose Rankin Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernetta Mary Rose Rankin of Mabou, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Herbert O'Brien and Mary O'Brien (Gavin); her husband John Archie; her sons, Emmett and Mark; her daughter-in-law Valerie; her great grandchild Halle Jane; and her siblings, Camillus (Theresa), Zeno (Marie), Gerard (Lois), Sister Rita O'Brien, Minnesota, Sister Theresa O and Brien.

She is survived by : her children, Katrena (Archie MacLean), Clare Mabou (Larry MacEachern), Monica Antigonish (Greg MacDougall), Mary Port Hood (Trevor MacDonald), Rita Port Hawkesbury (Lowell MacDonald), Joanne Mabou (Jamie MacIntyre), Jude Mabou (Linda), Peter Mabou (Brenda), John Benedict Mabou (Lila), Leonard Port Hood (Helena), Stephen Mabou (Sherri) and Norman Australia (Melinda); and her sister Mary O'Brien. She is also survived by fifty-six grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Mary's Parish Building Fund, Mabou and/or Respect for Life, Antigonish.
