He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S. McCurdy and Jamesina McCurdy (Moore); his former wife Hilda (Myers); his wife Muriel Dickie (Myers); his siblings, Clara and Samuel; his stepchildren, Leonard and Marian; and his great grandchild Elliott.

He is survived by: his children, Ervin (Darlene), Brian (Jeannie), Darrell (Krista), Valerie Fraser (Philip Higgins), Blaine (Debbie) and Cheryl Sutherland (John); his stepchildren, Ronald (Wanda) and Marina; his stepdaughter-in-law Gerry; his grandchildren, Wayne (Miranda), Paula (Randy), Janice, Julie (Brian), Daralyn (Aaron), Andrea (Anthony), Stephen (Franziska), Tony (Wanda), Michelle (Paul), Jeremy (Jessica), Amanda (Darcy) and Alex; his great grandchildren, Brett (Danielle), Colby (Maddie), Brianna (Ryan), Jessica (Connor), Jayden, Jasper, Devin, Natalie, Brendan, Jillian, Matthew, Christopher, Antonia, Henry, Abigail and Malcolm; his great great grandchildren, Jailynn and Skylar; and his stepgrandchildren, John, Heather, Philip, Jeffrey, Janice, David and Kristopher.
