He was predeceased by : his parents, John Marknette and Winnifred Marknette (Piercey); his wife Viola Marknette (Beaver); his son John Harold Marknette; and his siblings, Aubrey Marknette and Mary Yetman.

He is survived by : his daughter-in-law Paula Marknette; his grandson John Marknette (Jenn); his great grandchildren, Sarah and AJ; his granddaughter Kristle Grandy (Ian); his great grandchildren, Aiden and Rylee; and his sister Gladys Skovbjerg of Niagara Falls, ON. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
