We announce the death of Shane Thomas Richard of Monastery, Nova Scotia, who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 39. Shane will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Bernie Chisholm; and his grandparents, Alice Helen Richard (O'Donnelle) and Arthur Nicholas Richard. He is survived by: his significant other Caileigh (Chisholm); his son Hunter; his parents, Thomas Richard and Donna Kehoe (Rector); his mother-in-law Sherry Williams; his siblings, Tamara, Jennifer, Scott and Vanessa; and his brothers-in-law, Jonathan and Walter. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes (724 Granville St, Port Hawkesbury, NS B9A2N8). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Port Hawkesbury Legion (303 Reeves St, Port Hawkesbury, NS B9A2R6).
