She was predeceased by : her mother Geraldine Hallette; her stepmother Yvonne Askew; and her boyfriend George Rideout. She is survived by : her father Patrick Askew; her siblings, Corina Askew, Marina Askew, Shannon Cowan (Jeff), Lorna Long (Jim), Michael Askew (Tamella) and Stephen Power (Deana); her sons, Michael James Askew (Hannah) and Austin Askew; her stepchildren, John Rideout and Linda Rideout; and her nieces and nephews, Olivia Askew, Mackenzie Power, Katie Power, Amanda Atiyolil (Mark), Bryson Cowan, Hayden Cowan and Cameron Cowan.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home (2666 Windsor St, Halifax, NS B3K5C9). A reception was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Souls Harbour.
