She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Jessome and Elizabeth Jessome; her husband John Hoben; her sons, Arthur "Buddy" and David (Kim); her siblings, Mary, Theresa and Bernard; and her close friend Donnie.
She is survived by: her children, Paulette (Cyril), Theresa "Binky" (Dave), Kim (Vince), Jack (Diane), Steven (Karen) and Mark (Bertha); and her daughter-in-law Kathy. She is also survived by Her seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place Church (24 Church St, Mulgrave, NS B0E2G0). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church (28 Church St, Mulgrave, NS B0E2G0). A prayer was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:25 PM at the St. Lawrence Parish Cemetery (28 Church St, Mulgrave, NS B0E2G0).
Donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place or to a cause that was near and dear to her heart, the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
