She was predeceased by: her father Simon Mattie; her husband Joseph Simon Guthro of Auld's Cove; and her siblings, Berkley (Louise), Walter (Theresa), Russell (Ruth), Kathleen (Victor) and Josephine (Edward).
She is survived by: her mother Hattie Mattie (Delorey) of Mattie Settlement; her sons, Joseph of Auld's Cove, Deacon Berkley (Jessie), Charles (late Carola), Anthony, John and Mike (Debbie) of Auld's Cove; her grandchildren, Jason (Tammy), Jennifer (Raymond), Alexander (Kara), Dennis, Ashley (Darren), Shelby, Evan and Lacey; her great grandchildren, Matthew (Matty), Olivia, Kinslie, Easton, Macy, Landen, Emmett, Lakyn, Ally, Tegan, Trinity, Colton and Vincent; her sister Dora MacDonald (Clarence) of Auld's Cove; and her daughter-in-law Norma Guthro (Evanston). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place Church (24 Church St, Mulgrave, NS B0E2G0). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church (28 Church St, Mulgrave, NS B0E2G0). A prayer was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:25 PM at the St. Lawrence Parish Cemetery (28 Church St, Mulgrave, NS B0E2G0).
The family welcomes donations in memory of Mom to the St. Lawrence CWL Reception Fund or to the Auld's Cove Volunteer Fire Department.
