He is survived by: his significant other Margaret (Wallace); his children, Beth-Anne Marr (Andy), Margot Hayes (Yves) and Marc Hayes (Renee); his grandchildren, Geneviève, Jean-Philippe, Martine, Emily, Josiah, Kiahna, Isaiah, Elijah, Juliana and Enya; his brothers, Paul (Nonie) and Frank Hayes (Susan); and his siblings-in-law, Jim and Barbara (Jerry). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First United Church (7964 Nova Scotia Trunk 7, Musquodoboit Harbour, NS B0J2L0).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (https://alzheimercanada.donorsupport.co), a local food bank of your choice, or the Eastern Shore Ground Search and Rescue.
