He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Fitzgerald and Harriet Fitzgerald (Wilkie); his former wife Audrey; and his siblings, Roy, Ann Marie and Helen.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his sons, Paul (Laura Lee), Johnnie (Shauna), Scott (Kim) and Troy (Charmaine); his siblings, Lloyd, David (Ruby), Adie (Amy), Arlie (Brenda) and Rita; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Tammy, Michael, Corey, Megan, Kelli, Riley, Bryden and Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Ryder, Landon, Trenten, Jordyn, Brody, Kiera, Shamus, Brogan, Oaklyn, Rowan, Brayden and Parker.
