He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Gerelene Varner (Woodworth) and Ray Varner; his wife Cheryl (Veinot); his son Michael (Jaylene); his granddaughter Aaliyah of Maplewood; his son Jason (Ashlee); his granddaughter Gwen of New Canada; and his siblings, Helene Parnell (John), Michelle MacDonald, Lakeside and Edward Varner (Sheila) of Truro. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Trinity Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
