She was predeceased by: her parents, Hughie D. Buchanan and Elsie M. Buchanan (MacDonell); her brothers, Hughie-John and Blair; and her brother-in-law Lloyd Stone.
She is survived by: her close friend John LeClerc; her son Robert MacDonald (Amanda); her grandchildren, Samantha Gilby, Taylor Gilby and Emily MacDonald; her daughter Melanie MacDonald (Doug); her siblings, Jocelyn Stone, Emeline Hunt (Richard), Jean Buchanan (Phil), Brian (Linda), George (Elaine) and Glen (Eva); her sisters-in-law, Betty and Faye; and also, Bobby LeClerc and Peter LeClerc (Claudia). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia would be appreciated.
