We announce the death of Betty Morton (New Glasgow, Nova Scotia), who passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Betty will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Betty will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Betty will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Betty’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Catherine MacDonald (Kay) and Dan MacDonald. She is survived by: her brother William MacDonald (Margie MacDonald); and her children, Blaine Morton, Carla Morton (Harold Brewer), Kathy Phillips, Cindy Ferguson (James Ferguson) and Christie Ferguson (Donald Ferguson). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to a cause supporting seniors' care and palliative care in Betty's memory.
