He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Gillis and Jessie Gillis (Beeson); his brother Robert; his parents-in-law, Dan and Anna MacEachern; and his brothers-in-law, David, Ian MacEachern and Andre Layes.
He is survived by: his siblings, Kerry Gillis (Sandra), Geraldine MacKenzie (Gary), Aberdeen and Sally MacLean (William); and his sister-in-law Lynn Layes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Abercrombie Fire Department or the Aberdeen Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit Endowment.
