He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth John MacDonald and Lily Belle Grant; his son Allan; and his siblings, George, Ian, Harry, Allan, Donald, Evelyn, Violet and Edith.

He is survived by: his children, Gordon (Veronica) and Karen (Cornelius Mouris); his grandchildren, Melissa (Christoph), Gordie (Chrissie), Charles (Darlene), Heidi (Adam) and Katy (Shane); and his great grandchildren, Ella of Zoe, Vincent, Liam, Malcolm and Kenzie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
