It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Daniel Edward Atkins (New Glasgow, Nova Scotia), who passed away at the age of 78, on July 22, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilary Atkins and Myrtle Atkins (MacGrath); his parents-in-law, Frances and Will Smith; his siblings-in-law, David Smith and Donna Carter; and his pets, Charlie and King.

He is survived by: his wife Patsy Atkins (Smith); his siblings, Marion Park (Tom), Delbert MacGrath (Elizabeth), New Glasgow, Harold Atkins (Reva) and Kevin Atkins (Dale); his stepson Jeremy Smith (Theresa); his grandson Liam; and his siblings-in-law, Sterling (Rachel) and Marilyn English (Andrew). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the P & K MacDonald Funeral Home (536 Merigomish Rd, New Glasgow, NS B2H5E3).
