The passing of Daniel Stewart (New Glasgow, Nova Scotia) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on November 6, 2025 at the age of 95. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Hugh and Mary Aldora Stewart (Gerrior); his siblings, Douglas, Alvah, Mary, Laura, Florence and Margaret; and his siblings-in-law, Mary McGuire and William Ricketts.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ricketts; his children, James (Audra), Darren (Angela), Lunenburg Co and Jean Ann (Eric Poot) of Toronto, ON; his grandchildren, Glenda, Daniel and Zachary; and his siblings-in-law, Judith Feltus (Robert) of Sussex, NB, Joan Stewart of Toronto, ON and Edward "Ted" Ricketts (Lottie) of Oromocto, NB. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the R. H. Porter Funeral Home (55 Almont Ave, New Glasgow, NS B2H3G5). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Donations would be appreciated to the VON or Pictou County Palliative Care Society.
