He was predeceased by: his parents, Odber Ellis and Elsie Ellis of Port George; his wife Doreen; his siblings, Carl (Lucille) of Manchester, Tennessee, Phillip of Halifax, Madelyn Janes (Jess) of Granville Ferry and Dolores Fleet (Jerry) of London; his brother-in-law Gordon Whitlock of Farmington; and his son-in-law Byron Pike of Calgary.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Pike of Calgary and Sherry Thistle (Bob) of Cole Harbour; his grandchildren, Brennan Pike (Hanna) of Calgary, Carly Cunningham of Truro and Evan Cunningham of Bedford; his great grandchildren, Sophie, Gabrielle Pike of Calgary and Zachary Cunningham of Truro; his sisters, Jane Downey (Ron) of Cold Brook and Pat Whitlock of Farmington; his sister-in-law Jean Ellis; and his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Jesso (Connor), Joey Thistle, Austin and Theresa Hammond. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Angus Funeral Home (256 King St, New Glasgow, NS B2H5E3). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM at the Heatherdale Memorial Gardens (359 Alma Rd, Westville, NS B0K2A0).
