He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his daughters, Dawn Helpard (Steven), Foxbrook, Alissa and Emma Acker; his grandchildren, Jenna (Ryan), Ace and Kiera Helpard; his brothers, Brian Acker (Christie), Ont and David Acker (Nancy); his brothers-in-law, Scott MacKenzie and Dwayne MacKenzie (Myra); and his nieces and nephews, John, Henry, David, Lauren, Dustin, Mylen, Abi, Ty and Kale.

If desired, donations may be made in Laurie's memory towards his daughters, Alissa and Emma's, education.
