He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve and Mary; his siblings, Joe, John and Rose; and his siblings-in-law, Chuck Jones, Ray Holley, Cavell Hecimovich and Eleanor MacEachern.
He is survived by: his significant other Sue; his children, Susan Barry (Frank), Bonnie McCarron (Lloyd), Peter Hecimovich (Jenny) and Andy Hecimovich; his grandchildren, Donnie Swallow, Corey Hecimovich (Amber), Presley Hecimovich (Ryan Parsons), Daniel McCarron (Taylor), Cale McCarron (Rylee MacDonald), Lauren and Emma Hecimovich; his great grandchildren, Declan, Denver, Kinsley Hecimovich, Lilah Swallow and Brooklyn McCarron; his siblings, Frances Muir and Mike Hecimovich (Judy); and his siblings-in-law, Valerie, Brain Holley (Darlene), Doug Holley and Brian MacEachern. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the H. W. Angus Funeral Home (256 King St, New Glasgow, NS B2H4X8). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 3:15 PM to 3:30 PM at the Springville Cemetery East River.
He was inducted into the Pictou County Sports Heritage Hall of Fame for his contributions to baseball and was widely known as one of the best catchers in the county leagues.
