He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Matheson and Hilda Matheson (Dickson); his wife Carmie; his son Glen; his sister Charlotte Simpson; his parents-in-law, John and Loretta MacLeod (Ross); and his siblings-in-law, Frank MacLeod, Linda MacLeod and Dennis Power.
He is survived by: his children, Tanya MacDonald (Willie McNeil) of Sydney and Bruce Matheson of Brampton, Ontario.; his sisters, Peg Bingham and Donna Hope Power; his grandchildren, Lauren, Martin, Kendra and Davan; his daughter-in-law Kim Matheson; and his sister-in-law Valerie Chiasson (Dennis). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Calvin United Church (420 Hudson St, New Waterford, NS B1H3R3). A reception will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Remembrance & Fellowship (495 Smith St, New Waterford, NS B1H4K4).
