It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arlene Jean Lane of Newport, Nova Scotia, born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, who passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter Hunter and Ann Hunter (Clements); her husband Richard K. Lane; and her brother Alan Hunter. She is survived by : her son Scott Lane (Leanne); her grandchildren, Rebecca and Thomas; her daughter Jillian Regan (David); her grandchildren, Grace, Charlotte, Izzie and Will; her daughters, Tricia Lane (Ron El-Hawary) and Bedford; her grandchildren, Kegan, Liam, Alexa and Duncan; her brother Barry Hunter (Glenda); and her sisters-in-law, Elaine Hunter (Newport Corner) and Gertrude Lane (Windsor). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She raised spirits all around her through the pandemic and kept many staff and residents smiling at Dykeland Lodge where she lived for 5 years.
