He was predeceased by: his daughter Allyson; and his parents, Louise Hines and Russell Hines. He is survived by: his daughter Kristan Hines (Chris MacInnes); his granddaughter Grace; his wife Janette; his stepchildren, Tracey Boates Ecker (James Ecker) and Darren Boates (Lori); and his stepgrandchildren, Daniel and Bella.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Middleton Funeral Home (398 Main St, Middleton, NS B0S1P0).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HMCS Sackville – Canada's Naval Memorial Trust.
