He was predeceased by: his father Newton Thompson; his daughter Sara; his brother Brian; and his aunts and uncles, Raymond Thompson, Irene Mattatall (Don), Downey Thompson, Lottie McDonnell, Bill Crook, Dominic McDonnell, Betty McIntosh, Helen Simmonds (Jim), Lorna Thompson and Wendy McCorkill.
He is survived by: his mother Mary Thompson (McDonnell); his children, Laura (Pierre Babineau) of Shubenacadie East and Scott (Sasha Sztajdocher) of Alliston, Ontario; his granddaughter Sophie Babineau; his siblings, Michael (Darlene), Allan (Julie) and Mary Ann Sawler (James) of Enfield; his siblings' children, Jennifer, Jeff, Adam, Steven, Lucina, Charlie, Mary-Kaitlyn and Jacob; his uncles, Bernard McDonnell and Tommy McDonnell (Lorraine); and his aunt Delores Crook. He is also survived by great nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church (253 Hwy 2, Enfield, NS B2T1C9).
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Bernard's Knights of Columbus Council 11625 or the Nine Mile River Community Hall.
