She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Sr. Downey and Ida Mae Sr. Downey; her children, Scott Andrew, Delilah and Lisa; her siblings, Francis Jr., Angus, Perry Sr., Clyde, Estella, Margaret, Clara Sr., Myrtle, Adeline, Oneita, Lavon and Jane; and her grandchildren, Martaze, Juleka and Terry Jr. As.
She is survived by: her children, Elaine, Tara, Laurie, Shamyria of North Preston, Burlisha (Anthony), Karla, Kathleen, Desire of Dartmouth, Leon Jr. (Gail), Robert (Wendy), Freddy, Wade Jr., Rae'heem and Jaleek; her siblings, Mildred, Flemming Sr. (Violet), Albert (Patricia), Conrad (Carol Ann), Leroy Wade Sr. (Alfreda) and Ansiley (Cindy); her sister-in-law Loraine Provo; her siblings' children, Olive Simmonds, Carry Beals, Lize Clayton, Diana Downey, Jadasha Flint, Josie Beals and Janna Beals; her close friends, Viola and Lavice Cain; and her godchildren, Alfred Jr., Alfonz Simmonds, Joanna Downey, Onie, Darlene Provo, Charlotte Smith, NaQuan Beals, Aljah Downey, Roderick Downey, Pamela Downey, Kimboy Beals, Damion Beals, Sherlock Downey, Cortel Downey, Kemo Beals, Geordell Glasgow, Narantae Gray and Sundria Downey. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Thomas Baptist Church (35 Simmonds Rd, North Preston, NS B2Z1A3). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 2nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
