He was predeceased by: his parents, James Downey and Lena Downey (Beals); his wife Madeline; his son Talveau Joshua; his great grandchild Tre'vaiah; and his siblings, Elizabeth, Calvary, Madeline, Burley, Keith and Fulton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Nneka and Melissa; his grandchildren, Brayonna (Trevene) and Brieanne (Kyle); his great grandchildren, Tre'Laina, Taraji and Tahreiyah; his siblings, Viola, Natherine, Floria, Clara, Mona, Zelda, Cambridge, Wesley Herman Ross (Joanne) and Christopher (Christaline); and his godchildren, Sophia Willis, Erin Fraser and Ariana Desmond. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Saint Thomas Baptist Church (35 Simmonds Rd, North Preston, NS B2Z1A3). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Atlantic Funeral Home (771 Main St, Dartmouth, NS B2W3T9).
