He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Simmonds and Eunice Simmonds (Whynder); his wife Jeanette Haynes-Whynder; his stepdaughter Shannon; his son-in-law Andrew; his siblings, Lois, Gwendolyn, Manifold, Earl, Jonathan and Johnny; and his brothers-in-law, Irvin, Louis and Jim.

He is survived by : his stepdaughter Michelle; his son-in-law Kevin; his siblings, Lloyd (Tracey), David (Venetia), Charles, Jean, Althea, Zelma, Veronica, Sylvia (Keith), Adrian, Catherine and Marsha (Philmore); his sister-in-law Dolly; his godson Leon Downey; and his aunts, Ethel, Winifred, Gloria, Margie and Sylvia. He is also survived by his family and friends.
