He was predeceased by: his parents, Colin Francis Porter and Marguerite Kernick; his siblings, Billy, Randy, Curtis Porter and Gale Porter; his stepfather Duncan White; his niece Betty Colleen; his nephew Collin Porter; his siblings-in-law, Joanne Jillian Porter and Joseph Robinson; his parents-in-law, Bella and Alec Canavan; his brother-in-law Lloyd Canavan; his sister June; his brother-in-law George Jaques; and his nephew David Canavan.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Porter (Canavan); his daughter Shelly Gerrow; his son-in-law Paul Gerrow; his grandchildren, Brandon and Amber Gerrow; his siblings, Gary (Brenda), Greg (Agnes), Brant Porter (Carson), Marina Robinson and Noel Williams (Jim); and his siblings-in-law, Rosemary Steeves, Wanda Canavan McGean (Brian) and Wayne Canavan (Diane). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great/grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
