He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorne Ratchford and Félicie Ratchford (Bénac); his wife Marguerite Ratchford (MacMillan); his brother John; his siblings-in-law, Mary Ratchford, Diane MacMillan, Mary Ann Doyle, Dennis and Charlie MacMillan; and his parents-in-law, Norman and Frances MacMillan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Bernadette MacNeil (Jim), Lorna O'Grady (Patrick), Monica Sampson (Claude) and Karen Cox (Glenn); his grandchildren, Haley, Brennan, Kate MacNeil, Emily, Brendan, Kieran, Molly O'Grady, Chase, Lenee, Luc Sampson, Blake and Shann Cox; his siblings, Elise Ratchford (Marcel Jackman) and Greg Ratchford; his siblings-in-law, Kay, Malcolm Batherson, Johnnie, Karen MacMillan, Normie, Linda MacMillan, Leo Doyle, Linda Ratchford and Mary Beth MacMillan; and his friend Muriel Wilkie. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Alzheimer's Society or to the charity of one's choice.
