He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Gale and Elizabeth Gale (Fricker); his wife Betty Gale; his daughter Millie Gale-Matzick; his daughter-in-law Shannon Gale; his grandson Dennis MacPherson; and his siblings, John, George "Jigger", Eric "Turk", Elmer "Ick" Gale, Greta Moore, Goldie Carter and Marie Marinelli.

He is survived by : his children, Tammy MacPherson (Trapper) of Fort McMurray and Lloyd of Glace Bay; his grandchildren, Krystal Van Buuren (Nick), Jesse MacPherson (Andrea), Aaron Gale, Curtis Gale and George Patrick Lewis; and his great grandchildren, Ava Fenty-Hoskins, Jett Hoskins, Will MacPherson, Pierce Van Buuren, Nolan Van Buuren, Jones Van Buuren, Robert Gale and Hannah Gale.
