He was predeceased by: his parents, William Vickers and Sarah Vickers (Bonnar); his siblings, Edgar, Russell, Ferdinand, Augustus, Catherine, Jessie, Loretta, Mae, Willena, Vivian and Jean; and his son-in-law Graham Kirkwood.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Vickers (MacKenzie); his children, Patricia Kirkwood, Darren Vickers (Janet), Millville and Scott Vickers (Joanne); and his sisters, Lorraine Finlayson and Ann Ferguson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, SPCA, or a charity of your choice.
