He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Drake and Verena "Irene" Drake (Banfield); his sons, George Drake (Jennifer) and Garfield Drake (Shannon); his wife Helen; his stepdaughter Helene Finlayson; his grandson Baby Danny Christie; his sisters, Mira Selieg, Maude Myron and Phyllis Peach; and his friend John Pinaud.

He is survived by: his daughter Leah Mertens (Hubert); his stepchildren, Janie Dunphy (Donnie), Alex Finlayson (Lynn), Wendy Abbott (Pearce), Sandra Anderson (Alex), Kathy Dupont (Sandy), Dorothy DiPaolo (Martin), Danny Finlayson (Nicole) and Johnena Finlayson (Chuck); his grandchildren, Stephen, Kyle, Roan, Erin, Breton, Cole, Donnie, Jolene, Christopher, Devin, Jordan, Jennifer, Amy, Cassidy, Allie, Jeff, Daniela, Luca, Raylene, Kendra and Emily; and his close friends, Bud Pero, Frankie and Arnie Verschuren. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
