He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Fiander and Ellen Fiander (Kinslow); his wife Jean Fiander (Brown); and his sister Mary Way (Doug). He is survived by: his children, Eric (Jane) of Harvey Station, NB, Paul (Carmel) of Miramachi, NB, Joe (Cindy) of Lyons Brook, NS, Philip (Barb) of Rose Blanche, NL, Phyllis MacLean (Jim) and Joanne Parsons (Dennis); his grandchildren, Denise, Jennifer, Jeanna, Tyson, Kara, Grant, Samantha, Sara Jane, Chantel, Christy, Alex and Thomas; and his sibling's children, Clarence Brown, Linda Dolomont and Diane Brown.
