Stanley Winfred Drake Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Stanley Winfred Drake (North Sydney, Nova Scotia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 20, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Drake and Winnifred Drake (Savory); and his siblings, Levi, Murdock, Johnny, Allan, Gertie, Edith and Marion.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda (Stewart); his children, Rev. Brenda (John) and Paul (Vickey) of Chester; his grandchildren, Sarah (Bruce) and Devin; his great grandchild Malcolm; and his sister Jean Poole.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Anglican Church (24 King St, North Sydney, NS B2A2S4). A reception will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
Through the years he would participate in jam sessions and local charity events with lifelong friend Cecil Poole (The Newfie Jammers) on the south shore of Nova Scotia and later with his friends from the Florence Legion.
