He was predeceased by : his wife Jean; his son Andrew; and his siblings, Gladys Parker, Georgina Harrington, Robert Burns and Donald Burns.

He is survived by : his son David Burns; his sister Joan Funk; his grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany Burns, Danielle and Christina Lively; and his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Benjamin Burns and Katie Broten.
